Family Gift Centre 2021-Mustard Seed Initiative.

The Mustard Seed is hosting for the 6th year the Family Gift Centre.

The Family gift centre is a program that gives families in need the gift of dignity.

People that are living below the poverty line can come to the centre and purchase gifts for their loved ones. Each gift is $2. The reason that there is a charge is to give people the opportunity to choose something and to be able with integrity to say that it was purchased by them.

It gives individuals the dignity to choose. They are able to purchase 2 gifts per child as if they were going into a brick and mortar business. It allows them the opportunity to walk through the store with dignity and handpick brand-new toys knowing they will be able to purchase the items for a price they can afford. This may seem small but it is extremely significant to those that use this service.

The range of items up to be purchased is for children and teenagers between 0-18 years old. It can be anything you would buy for your own child or teenager.

Donations are to be dropped off at the Mustard Seed Community Support Centre which is located on 10568- 114 Street. Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Donations will be received until December 1st as the event happens on December 07 and 08.

You can also donate money or gift cards specifically to the Family Centre which will be used to purchase items for the event.

The $2 is put back into the next year’s Family Gift Centre. All proceeds go back into helping continue this program carry on.

Up to 1000 children have been helped in a single year.
